The third Bu/Bo/Butxaca reunion took place on the June 28th-29th, 2006, in la Pobla de Cérvoles.
For reasons of logistics, it again took place in la Pobla de Cérvoles. One hundred and forty people attended, representing people from the United States, Curaçao, Argentina, France, and Catalonia.
For the first time the national anthems of the countries represented were played.
The exhibition of the genealogical trees and other information was spectacular, and there was also information on the latest research which has enabled the union of more people to the main trunk. There was an extensive commentary on the present book and also on the CD which will contain the database.
The family anthem was played for the first time and the shield of our surname was presented, and the criteria for its creation explained.
Three lectures were of great interest: “The Bo/utxaca Gene: Coincidental Characteristics in the Buchacas of Cuba”, by Soly Ramos; “Genealogy and the Meaning of Life”, by Monique Riviére Bochaca; and “From the Search for My Origins to the Discovery of a Great Family”, By Nicolai Buchaca Henschien, (the latter presented by video recording).
‘The Book of a Family’ is the detailed, informative account of our family's past, present and future.
We descend from workers of the land in Freixe, Catalonia. Today, the family is found throughout the world.
