The First Reunion

The first Bu/Bo/Butxaca reunion took place on the June 5^th - 6^th, 1999.

One hundred and forty-one people put their names down. Some were only there on Saturday, others only on Sunday; the majority were there for the two days.

The Reunion took place in la Pobla de Cérvoles, in the region called les Garrigues (Lleida), the usual place of residence of the reunion’s promoter.

The program took into account that people should be able to get to know each other, and therefore, quite a lot of time was devoted to the introductions. Each family explained who they were and where they came from.

An account was given of the research carried out so far and the objective of linking the different branches of the family in a genealogical tree was announced.

It was shown how different families were already linked to the main tree and new information and corrections were collected. It was already a great step.

Reunion Agreements

That we should meet again when we had things of note to communicate, the result of our research, or to mark the publication of the book of our surname. This would not be for two or three years.
The meeting will continue to be of two days’ duration, although the second day will be of a more dynamic nature, visiting some small town, origin of the Bu/Bo/Butxacas. It will therefore be in the regions of Pallars or l’Alt Urgell.
A committee will continue to meet in order to carry on with the search and to bring new data which will permit the different single branches of the tree to be linked.
A web page will be set up for our surname.
The file on our surname will be complemented with personal details on each person, adding their profession, knowledge, hobbies, etc.
The main tree, subsidiary trees, and branches which we have computerized will be sent in disk form to whomever should ask for it.
